We’re back from Atlanta! We went down to celebrate Chase’s birthday.
But, as usual, let’s start at the beginning.
Finished Honeymoon Leia FINALLY. Just got to put a closure on the belt and add the 3d printed pieces Chase is working on.
And it needs steamed really bad because it’s been manhandled like crazy the last few weeks.
Luna says hi
I’ve been wanting this bag for a while and came across it on a site on clearance for $10 shipped. Heck yeah. It’ll be a great size for disney trips.
Friday we got up at 4:30 to leave at 5. We actually got out close to 5 because we didn’t have a bunch of stuff to load in the car LOL
Friday was fabric hunting day. We went to Fine and Gail K. Didn’t get as much as I hoped, but a good start for dragoncon projects.
Weird checking into the Marriott and them giving us a low floor without charging us an extra $800 š
We had dinner at Atalian right down the street and it was very good. Came back and got to hang out with Jon & Rose the rest of the evening.
Saturday was up early to drive out to Toylanta.
I REALLY enjoyed looking around at the con.
I should really just get a table at something like this, clean out my parents attic and take it all and sell it at a con LOL
I went into it saying I wasn’t going to buy anything, I was just going to enjoy looking, but…. I had to have this.
Came back to the hotel, had lunch, took a nap and then got ready for dinner.
Made sure to take some pics of the Star Wars dress, I didn’t feel like we got many good ones on the cruise.
Off to Trader Vic’s for dinner!
We got treated to a tour of the restaurant and the history of Trader Vic’s. It was really cool!
We had a great dinner and I’m so glad so many friends were able to come! It was a fun time!
Thanks to Bill for these pics of the whole dinner crew!
Good night Marriott, see you again in a few months.
We were going to go to the other Gail K location Sunday morning but decided to get on up and get home. We did make a slight detour to go to the Joann just across the stateline in MS (I really like that location) to see if we could find anything more of what we were looking for. Here’s the haul:
The blue and black at the top are both double ponte knits for a Lower Decks uniform. Now that I’m home and seeing the blue in the light I feel like it might be slightly too “royal” blue and I may need to get something lighter. We’ll see.
The light blue is a VERY VERY VERY thin jersey knit. That pile right there is 10 yards! It looks so small because it’s so thin. That’s for Tatooine Padme. I really hope I got enough.
The 2 blacks next to it are both for Chase’s Baylan. A wool for the cape and a linen for the kama. The brown underneath it is another wool and that’s for my Shin cape. That’s all we could find for those 2. Ugh, now to start the online fabric hunt.
At Toylanta I also got this Disney sheet for $5. It’s a little more worn that I would’ve liked but hope I can make something cute with it in the future. If not, it was only $5.
So now attention turns to Huntsville. Costume plans are very nebulous, I can’t make up my mind what to take….
1. Honeymoon Leia, I will definitely being wearing that.
2. Chip and Dale? Chase talked about bringing these, we’ve never worn them to a con so that would be fun.
3. Breha maybe? I’d love to wear it again.
4. Jedi Training Leia is something I thought about but doubtful, I don’t want to have to babysit a lightsaber while walking around.
5. Also thought about Seven of Nine but the photoshoot was so traumatic I dunno if I’m up to wearing it again right away LMAO It would be a good opportunity tho.
6. Packing Padme is almost a definite, I need to wear it with the new shoes!
7. Sailor Jupiter, after finishing this in 2020 I’ve never worn it anywhere, so I thought this might be a nice con for it.
I’m only taking 4… so I’m thinking Honeymoon Leia and Packing Padmes are definites, and then I’ll pick 2 from the other list. If Chase commits to Chip I’ll commit to Dale, so that just leaves a wildcard for #4. It’ll prob either be Seven or Jupiter because those are the 2 easiest options to walk around in.
